What is this group?:  This is an 8-week focus group intended to gather participants for yoga combined with meditation, journaling, discussion, and personal transformation.  Cultivating awareness is one of the first steps we must take in order to control the flow of our lives.  This is best done through tapping into the present centered awareness of the body itself.  In yoga therapy the body is used as a medium for gaining personal insight into the sources of our limitations, whether they be mental or physical.  This program offers participants an opportunity to promote awareness through the body by way of yoga within the healing container of a fully present and supportive group.

Who is it for?:  This group is for anyone wanting to dive deeper into the wisdom of the body and share that process with others in order to strengthen health and mental wellbeing.  It is for anyone wanting help in alleviating chronic stress, pain, worry, discomfort, hesitation, doubt, and uncertainty.  It is for anyone wanting to connect more deeply with themselves and get more clear about what's important in this life.  

What's the commitment?: The full cost for this program is $375.00.  The "Early Bird" rate of $325.00 will last until March 1st, 2021.  I exchange, participants will receive 8 two-hour small group yoga practices in addition to a silent retreat to be determined by the group.  Resources to support a yoga practice, make changes, and connect with others will be continually provided to participants throughout the duration of the program. Participants must agree to be present for all 8 meetings in addition to agreeing to fully participate in a silent retreat.  The structure of the silent retreat will be determined by the group.

When is it?: This group will start March 11th, Thursday night at 7pm - 9pm and be held weekly every Thursday night until April 29th with one additional silent retreat, the date of which is to be determined by the group.

Where is it?: Weekly meetings will be held at The Healing Gallery, 56 1/2 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29412.  The Healing Gallery is a little slice of healing heaven tucked within the heart of downtown charleston.  It is a center for holistic therapies such as accupuncture, massage, and yoga.  Read more about the venue at

How do I sign up? Please call 843-592-1986 or email in order to register and receive an intake form to be submitted prior to the first meeting.  Space is limited to 6 participants per a group.

What should I expect?  Each week the group focuses on one theme that serves as a pillar for the philosophy behind Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.  Meetings will begin with a brief dharma talk followed by a 45 to 60 minute yoga practice combining movement, breathwork, and meditation.  The group will finish with an integrative circle to discuss any insights gleaned from our time together before a closing activitiy.  Homework may be assigned on certain meetings as a means to help integrate what was experienced and/or to prepare participants for the next meeting.  An outline of the day may look like this:

6:45pm - 7:00pm - Arrivals and Check-Ins

7:00pm - 7:15pm - Welcome and Dharma Talk

7:15pm - 8:15pm - Yoga Practice with Guided Meditation

8:15pm - 8:25pm - Dyads 

8:25pm - 8:55pm - Integration Circle

8:55pm - 9:00pm - Closure

What should I bring?  Please consider bringing your own yoga mat, yoga strap, yoga blocks, and blankets.  These items may be provided by the stuido but we'd like to reduce the risk of any contamination considering the current social health status with coronavirus.  Please also bring a bottle of water and a means of journaling or taking notes.  Bring a willingess to share and be supported by others.
